Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using the Intent app, signing in, or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Intent.
What Intent is
Intent is a focus and goal-planning app for Windows. It helps you connect monthly goals to daily tasks, work on a current task, run focus sessions, return after interruptions, and reflect on and review your progress. It is built on one idea: getting distracted is expected; returning is the skill.
Intent is local-first: your productivity content is stored on your device. An online account, created with Google sign-in, identifies you and your devices.
Intent does not currently charge for use. If paid features are introduced, any prices and payment terms will be presented to you before you buy.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Intent. Intent is not directed to children under 13. Additional age or consent requirements may apply where required by applicable law, and you may use Intent only if you meet them.
Your account
- You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for keeping that Google account and your devices secure.
- Your Intent account is for you personally. Do not share it or use someone else’s account.
- Tell us promptly at arnavsharma8079@gmail.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
Using the app
Subject to these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Intent app on Windows devices you own or control, for your own use.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Intent in violation of any law, or to harm others;
- attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of our servers, or bypass security, authentication or rate limits;
- interfere with or overload the service, including through automated or excessive requests;
- copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease the app or the service, except as the law expressly allows;
- misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with anyone.
Your content and data
The goals, tasks, reflections and other content you create in Intent are yours. We do not claim ownership of them. Because they are stored on your device, you are responsible for keeping that device and its data safe, including making your own backups. We cannot recover local content that is lost or deleted.
How we handle account information is described in the Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
The Intent app, this website, the Intent name and logo, and the Kero companion artwork are owned by the operator of Intent or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These terms do not give you any rights in them other than the licence to use the app described above.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve Intent without any obligation to you.
Third-party services
Intent relies on services provided by others, including Google sign-in. Your use of your Google account is governed by Google’s own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability may affect your ability to sign in.
Availability and changes
Intent is in active development. Features may be added, changed or removed, and the service may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or updates. We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the service at any time. Because your content is stored locally, an outage of our servers may affect signing in but does not by itself remove the content on your device.
Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Intent is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that Intent will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of data loss.
Intent is a productivity tool. It is not medical, psychological or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator of Intent will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or productivity, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, Intent.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Termination
You can stop using Intent at any time. You can sign out, uninstall the app, and ask us to delete your account by emailing arnavsharma8079@gmail.com.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we must do so to comply with the law, or to protect the service or other users. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination, including those on intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Intent changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, for example on this website or in the app, before it takes effect. If you keep using Intent after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
